A retrospective cohort study, using the 2016-2018 National Inpatient Sample (NIS), examined the relationship between timing of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and outcomes in low-risk adults with infective endocarditis (IE) who underwent non-urgent TEE procedures (greater than 48 hours).
